Northwood University recently held a webinar exploring “Capitalism at the Crossroads: Why Free Markets Matter More than Ever,” featuring Northwood Senior Vice President Emeritus Dr. Timothy G. Nash, who leads the Northwood University Center for the Advancement of Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.

In the webinar, Dr. Nash explores:
• Why capitalism remains essential to American prosperity and entrepreneurial freedom
• How central planning cannot compete with free markets
• Capitalism’s moral and economic foundation
• The power of creative destruction
• Life transformed under capitalism
• The cost of stifling innovation

“The thesis today is: Can capitalism survive? There are so many different meanings to people regarding capitalism,” Nash states. “…The question to ask is, is America turning toward socialism, and if so, can (we) survive? What would happen to the United States if we moved toward socialism?”
