Why Red States Are Coming for Washington’s Blue-Chip Companies
Northwood University Professor Brett Decker recently authored an essay for Townhall examining why business-friendly states are working to attract major companies from Washington state.
In the column, Decker argues that companies such as Starbucks, Amazon, Boeing and Microsoft are more than iconic brands — they represent jobs, tax revenue, private investment and broader economic activity that support local communities. He warns that higher taxes, increased regulations and policies that make it more difficult for companies to operate could accelerate corporate relocation to lower-cost, pro-business states.
Decker is the Endowed Chair of Leadership at Northwood University.
