O’Keefe, Northwood, and DBusiness Present: ‘The State of the Economy and Role of Government in Emerging Markets’
O’Keefe, Northwood University, and DBusiness are partnering to host “The State of the Economy and Role of Government in Emerging Markets,” a special presentation on Oct. 29 in Troy, Michigan.
The morning presentation will feature insights from leading economic experts on government policy, emerging industries, and the current state of the U.S. economy.
Speakers will include Michigan economist Dr. Timothy G. Nash, vice president emeritus and director of The McNair Center for the Advancement of Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at Northwood University, and Jim Holcomb, president and CEO of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. They will discuss what strategies can enhance U.S. and Michigan competitiveness in a post-November world.
The event will be moderated by Pat O’Keefe, CEO and founder of O’Keefe, a transactional strategic and financial advisory firm, alongside Dr. Kent MacDonald, president of Northwood University, a private, nonprofit, accredited institution dedicated to developing free-enterprise leaders who drive future global economic and social progress.

The event will occur from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the San Marino Club at 1685 E. Big Beaver Road in Troy, Michigan.
About the Speakers:
• Dr. Timothy G. Nash is a distinguished economist with extensive experience in economic research and policy. He has co-authored several influential books, including When We Are Free and In Defense of Capitalism. With a career spanning over four decades at Northwood University, Dr. Nash has led significant economic research initiatives and has addressed various national and international forums on economic issues.
• Jim Holcomb has been at the helm of the Michigan Chamber since January 2022, having previously led the organization’s Business Advocacy Team. With over 33 years of experience in Michigan’s political landscape, Holcomb has significantly influenced the state’s business climate and economic policies.
